Cooling glass pushes Stadco Coolings' export sales over £1 million

Stadco Cooling one of Europe's leading suppliers of standard and bespoke industrial water cooling systems has recently topped £1.2 million in export sales.

Two air blast radiators have been exported to Cristalerías Toro SAIC, Santiago, Chile to cool a pressure transducer which controls the flow in their water system during the production of glass containers. This cools the furnace systems when producing the glass.

Today Stadco Cooling faces the challenges of a developed, mature economy and an ever-more competitive global marketplace. David Watson said: "Increasing exports continues to be a key objective for Stadco Cooling and I have confidence in our ability to grow this and to continue to win new business in such a highly competitive global market."

The systems, capable of dissipating 1,479 kW when cooling 280 US GPM water from 65°C to 45°C, in a design ambient of 40°C dry bulb both had eight, 2.2 kW fans drawing air over aluminium finned copper tubes. They were also fitted with two digital fan control thermostats. The order also consisted of an electric control panel and a non-ferrous 'sealed' dual pump module, fitted with two 18.5 kW pumps. Each pump was rated to deliver the required system flow rate at a pressure differential of approximately 7.5 – 8.0 bar measured at the pump.

"In such a globalized market, flexible and dedicated products and service need to be a strategic weapon to remain competitive. Demand from emerging economies is becoming more challenging and companies are expecting more. This is why we go out of our way to offer economic, reliable and operational advantages to our customers," says David Watson.

Jorge Muñoz, Engineering Manager, Cristaleros Toro SAIC, said "We have a very good relationship with Stadco Cooling, which has been built over a number of years. They always interpret our requirements correctly, are very reliable and responsive. The equipment works very well and we've never had any problems. We value their products and service very highly".
