Plate Heat Exchangers
Stadco Cooling offer a wide range of gasketed and welded plate heat exchangers (either separately or bought as part of bespoke systems) that enable companies to efficiently transfer heat from one fluid to another.
There are several types of heat exchanger available and by combining various numbers of high-precision, standardised plate designs into complete, compact units with various connection figurations and sealing techniques Stadco Cooling can achieve almost infinite flexibility to meet the needs of each individual customer.
Performance can be optimised to your particular application, combined with the use of standardised parts, manufacturing procedures and compact design.

Key Benefits (select a heading to read more)
- Excellent heat transfer properties compared to conventional shell-and-tube
- The compact design usually means less cost in the final construction of systems
- PHE offer more contact area for heat dissipation. Since there are multiple layers, or circuits, where the fluid flows, it comes into greater contact with the surface resulting in faster heat dispersion
- The smaller cross sectional area and fluted construction also adds turbulence to the fluid, further increasing the efficiency of the heat transfer
- Equipment can be designed smaller as they take up less space than a comparable shell-and-tube system
- PHE can be arranged as an integral part of the final unit
- Fluid turbulence is present at low volume transfers making the PHE ideal for partial load applications
- Unique plate design enables exact matching to the application
- Easy to change the properties when conditions change
- A wide range of plate designs for both symmetrical and asymmetrical flows
- Depending on the demands for heat transfer vs. pressure drop of a given application, the flows may be co-current or counter-current
- Wide gap plates are available, being most effective in applications with liquids containing fibres or solids causing extensive clogging and downtime for cleaning
- Enables sealed system operation from unsuitable water supplies
- The compact size of the PHE makes it easy to transport and install
- Their light weight design can also mean smaller mounting systems, smaller frame systems and easier manoeuvrability and installation
- Superior corrosion resistance
- Turbulent flow design minimises fouling
- Easy to dismantle, inspect and maintain
- Easy to clean by dismantling
- Leakage between fluids is not possible due to double gaskets around the ports
- Despite the smaller footprint of PHE no compromises are made on strength resulting in exceptional durability along with higher operating pressures and temperatures
